Welcome to the Trowel & Hammer

The Trowel and Hammer is an attractive, part thatched pub situated in the picturesque village of Cotton approximately 6 miles north of Stowmarket. It is a listed building oozing with character and charm not to mention original oak beams and open fires.

As a traditional country pub, the Trowel and Hammer offers a cosy rural atmosphere with real ales and quality home cooked food. We have a comfortable bar with a separate restaurant and a superb beer garden - ideal for al fresco drinking and dining during the warmer months.

We welcome families and dogs and we have easy wheelchair access so why not come along and enjoy great food and drink in relaxed surroundings with a warm welcome guaranteed from Abi and Elliott.

New Sunday hours

As of Sunday 18th March we will be closing at 6pm on Sundays. Our famous plated Sunday Roast is still availblae from 12pm - 3pm but please do remember to book as we get very busy.

Our busiest ever day!

Mother's Day saw us having our busiest ever day with some of our tables out three times during one service. Everything went really well and all of our customers left full up and happy. It may not be Mother's Day anymore but why not come and try us for yourselves - we are confident that you won't be disappointed.
